Lighting in a modern interior

Ixplaine Design Group

When creating a modern image for residential or commercial premises, the designer has the task to create an individual style and emphasize it through the correct choice of lighting. Using various light scenarios, you can effectively beat individual areas of the room or certain elements of the interior, create an atmosphere of lightness and relaxation.

Natural and decorative light

Despite the fact that we live in the age of technology and are surrounded by a mass of power sources, the creation of a modern interior in a room is impossible without natural light. The presence in the room of such design solutions as panoramic windows, attic, embedded glass structures in the ceiling, transparent doors and the maximum number of mirrors provide:

  • visual increase in space;
  • atmosphere of lightness and creativity;
  • maximum emphasis on selected pieces of furniture during the daytime.

Along with the importance of natural light, the use of artificial light cannot be underestimated. Using lamps built into the ceiling or walls evenly distributed around the room, you can:

  • Create an environment concomitant to relaxation.
  • Hide interior flaws.
  • Distribute the room into zones.

Please note! To achieve the desired result from artificial lighting, it is necessary to use not only the background light, but also decorative: table lamps, wall lamps, LED strips, the illumination of paintings and cornices.

Light scenarios

The 21st century “dictates” certain working conditions to an interior designer. Philistines prefer minimalism and constructivism. Due to the abundance of gadgets, one of the indicators of comfort is the ability to change the situation with a special remote control or program on the phone. Many people prefer to install one or several sensors with specified operating modes for lighting devices.

Today, the main criterion when choosing sources of lighting is the high manufacturability of devices and the possibility of combining several light scenarios:

  • main lighting;
  • backlight;
  • combined light

Scenarios differ from each other by a number of indicators: the number of lamps involved, the power of the instruments, the hue and directionality of the light rays. Depending on the choice of a particular mode of operation, white, yellow or blue light with different scattering angles will be used.
